The Power of Syekh Maulana Malik Ibrahim to Bring Rain

Syekh Maulana Malik Ibrahim was also known as Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim and he was one of Walisongo members who loved wandering around and had the super power to control anything including weather. When he went to one place which was really hot, he saw the crowds from far away. There, people stood around the stage made of stones or rocks. On the top of the stones, there was a woman dressed in white and she was flanked by two men.

The men who flanked the women had big body and they held the hand of the woman while the woman was screaming out loud. There, Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim also saw a priest who casted the spell. The priest would start the ceremony while holding the knife. In the middle of the ceremony, Syekh Maulana Malik Ibrahim came to know what was that all about. Then, the priest answered question addressed by Maulana Malik about the reason why the woman was crying. The priest answered that she was killed by the bad man as the victim.

The people wanted to give her to the rainy God to bring rain for showering the region since that area experienced the long dry season. The result is, they could not harvest anything at all. In the ceremony, the priest will stab the knive to the woman. At the moment where the woman will be stabbed by the teacher, Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim came into the scene and he interrupted the moment. He begged for not continue the ceremony and all ceremonial things must be stopped right away.

Sunan wanted to help them to bring rain but the priest said it was impossible at all. Sunan didin’t like the idea to sacrifice people to make rain in the life. The people really wanted to feel the rain after so long and Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim said the God would help them in need to rain for living. Then, Sunan along with his five apprentices prayed by facing the Qibla.

They did shalat Sunah Istiqah or pray to beg for the rain. After praying, the sky looked so gloom and cloudy. Indeed, the rain fell down and it was not just any rain but the heavy rain feel down to shower the dry land after so long. The people are so happy right there because they have waited to long for the rain to come in their land. After that, Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim said the people to stop dancing and enjoying the rain. He asked the people to thank God for the rain and they didn’t make the woman as victim.

Sunan or Syekh Maulana Malik Ibrahim said not to forget to say thank you to the god because the rain could fall down to the ground under the power of God. Then, the people there learn about Islam religion and they become Islam. Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim spread Islam religion to the land and taught the people anything they wanted to know.
